"The world is built upon the power of numbers."   ~ Pythagoras

According to the numerologist Han Decoz, the master numbers possess a potential which exceeds that of ordinary numbers. Because of this they are not reduced in numerology.  A rule which is highly significant when we look at the numbers related to the 2012 winter solstice.

There are three master numbers: 11, 22 and 33.  That they can all be found in and around the date of December 21, 2012 by my, possibly more synchronistic than traditionally correct, application of numerology tells a story I find both interesting and inspiring.

Although not all sources are in agreement, The Naval Observatory of the United States lists the official time of the 2012 winter solstice, when Earth's tilt is angled as far away as possible from the sun, as 11:11 Universal Time on December 21, 2012.  I found this interesting for the following reasons.

Doing a little very simple math we find that 12/21/2012 the date of the winter solstice and the end point of the Maya Long Count Calendar gives us our first master number (1+2+2+1+2+1+2) of 11.

Using Hans Decoz's interpretation of the masters as our reference, we find that 11 "represents illumination; a channel to the subconscious; insight without rational thought; and sensitivity, nervous energy, shyness, and impracticality."

Decoz goes on to tell us that 11 "is a number with inborn duality, which creates dynamism, inner conflict, and other catalyses with its mere presence. It is a number that, when not focused on some goal beyond itself, can be turned inward to create fears and phobias. The 11 walks the edge between greatness and self-destruction. Its potential for growth, stability, and personal power lies in its acceptance of intuitive understanding, and of spiritual truths."

This is very applicable in my opinion to where we find ourselves at present and our condition as we go into this new and remarkable time frame.

The exact time of the solstice of  11:11 UTC gives us two master numbers (11+11).  Following the non-reduction rule, we made add these two numbers to arrive at our second master number: 22.

Of the 22, Hans Decoz writes:  "The 22 is the most powerful of all numbers. It is often called the Master Builder. The 22 can turn the most ambitious of dreams into reality. It is potentially the most successful of all numbers. It has many of the inspirational insights of the 11, combined with the practicality and methodical nature of the 4. It is unlimited, yet disciplined. It sees the archetype, and brings it down to earth in some material form. It has big ideas, great plans, idealism, leadership, and enormous self-confidence. If not practical, the 22s waste their potential... The 22 serves the world in a practical way."

Adding the value of the date and time of the winter solstice on December 21, 2012 together (11 + 22) we are given our third master number - the number 33.

Decoz comments on the 33 as follows. "The 33 is the most influential of all numbers. It is the Master Teacher. The 33 combines the 11 and the 22 and brings their potential to another level. When expressed to the fullest, the 33 lacks all personal ambition, and instead focuses its considerable abilities toward the spiritual uplifting of mankind. What makes the 33 especially impressive, is the high level of sincere devotion. This is shown in its determination to seek understanding and wisdom before preaching to others. The 33 in full force is extremely rare."

Summing up the energy of the masters, Decoz says:  "The number 11 represents the vision, while the number 22 combines the vision with action.  The number 33 offers guidance to the world."

It is my own intuition that December 21st 2012 does not indicate an ending so much as it does a new beginning.  In this new cycle we may combine the illumination of the 11 and the power and practicality of the 22 with the altruism of the 33.  What results is of immense spiritual benefit to us all.

I see the coming age as a process in which we are continually evolving.  And I feel that this evolution is an across the board transformation encompassing new levels of spirit, wisdom and compassion.  May we all be worthy of it.

Addendum:  Turns out that most sites are now listing the time of the solstice as 11:12 UTC, completely messing up my math :(  For me however, whether those numbers correlate with the last minute of the old era or the first minute of the new, the energy they generate is still significant.

Update: I did get 6:11 AM ET (and 6:12) to see if anything seemed different.  And I guess I can only say that at 6:00 AM with the energy of the new day building, things always do.  If this cycle, if it is indeed a cycle, will change things, however, remains to be seen.
