The time of the new moon is a period of gestation and growth.  It is the perfect time to set new intentions and to include the visualization of those intentions in our daily meditations.

Our intentions should always be of our own choosing but if we wish to capitalize on the astrological energy of this month's new moon it may be helpful to take a moment to reflect on the sign in which that moon occurs.

This month, that sign is Aquarius. The new moon entered Aquarius on February 10th and the period of the new moon extends to the 25th of the month.

About Aquarius: Aquarius is an air sign and air is associated with thought and inspiration.  There is an implied connection to spirit in the understanding of this element, and even to divinity making intentions having to do with creative work, spirituality or anything requiring mental clarity particularly appropriate during the gathering energy of this month's new moon.

But Aquarius is a fixed sign as well and fixed signs are known to demonstrate determination and persistence. And the intentions we set this month can benefit from that energy.  Important long term undertakings or projects, are strengthened by the energy of this month's cycle.

The characteristics of Aquarius include sociability, inventiveness and a future oriented perspective.  These traits combined with the natural communicative abilities of the sign suggest resonant intentions having to do with community, networking and / or creative endeavors.

This month I've set my intentions on my manuscript.  And I used the visualization guidelines from Barbara Martin and Dimitri Moraitis incredible book, Change Your Aura, Change Your Life: A Step-by-Step Guide to Unfolding Your Spiritual Power, to fill my visualizations with divine light and energy.  I'm excited to see these intentions manifest in the organized, efficient and analytical full moon of Virgo.

I'm also excited to began working with Llewellyn's Complete Book of Astrology: The Easy Way to Learn Astrology and Llewellyn's Complete Book of Predictive Astrology: The Easy Way to Predict Your Future by Kris Brandt Riske which have just dropped on my doorstep this morning.  I hope to be able to include some of what I've learned in future posts.

Learning where the new and full moon fall in your own personal astrology chart can provide additional highly specific information on how you can make optimal use of the new and full moon energies.  To learn more about this month's lunar cycle and receive your own free on air lunar cycle astrology reading, please join myself and Astrological counselor Anna Swora, on this Thursday's New Age Review Radio Show ( 9PM ET / 6PM PT).
